Re: Dragon: Changelog
This lists all the changes the authors of this game have made to it since the judging period began, in their own words.
If you'd like to play the game as it existed at the start of the competition, prior to the application of any updates, you may download the full-competition .zip archive from the top of the games-list page.
- October 1, 10:25 PM (UTC): Added README file to indicate to players that the story is meant to be played on the web and will not work properly in a standalone interpreter
- October 1, 10:36 PM (UTC): Why? Because I'm an idiot and when I added the README two seconds ago, I misspelled the word "browser".
- October 6, 10:09 PM (UTC): Fixed to/from: header in individual emails, as pointed out by "Das Reboot" on the forum.
- October 18, 5:46 PM (UTC): Just realized that the autogenerated website from Inform says that you can play this in an interpreter and takes great pains to explain how to download and interpreter, but we know that's pure malarky! This game runs only in a browser, no matter what the autogenerated file thinks. So, I had no recourse but to attack the index.html file with a hacksaw and shave off all the bothersome bits for both En Garde and Re: Dragon. I am curious about something though... How long can these update justifications be? I mean, can I prattle on for pages? Could I embed and entire game *in* the update information. Very tempting. Maybe I did. Life is twisty. Maybe there is a hidden clue embedded in one of these update justification entries. Or not. I could totally be scamming. Still, it is an intriguing possibility. Who am I kidding, though? I put easter eggs in just about every game I write and how often do I hear about it? Just about never. Sometimes I think that players only see about 10% of what I actually write. That's not an indictment of players, by the way, it's more like a reminder to myself to try to write efficiently -- but not railroad. It's a tough balance. Any how, fictitious reader who has bothered to read this far down, I hope you have enjoyed this update text.
